Natallia Hrusha, founder of ‘Equilibrium Flower Studio’, took part in the Féerie Florale at the Town Hall of the glorious city of Dendermonde with a Christmas composition “Palm tree spathes”. With her team – Katya Blumberg and Elena Gubarenko. The trio of florists reminded us that Jesus Christ was born in a warm climate and the Christmas arrangement around which the family gathers for Christmas can remind us of Bethlehem. In the courtyard of the 13th century Town Hall of the ancient city, the 5 palm leaves reaching upwards bring us back to the original atmosphere of Christmas. Their curved shapes suggest a warm embrace, reflecting the unity that Christmas Eve brings in every family. In the center of each leaf, resembling an ark, a bouquet blooms, symbolizing the celebration of life.
“This installation reimagines the Christmas tree as a circular composition of pinecones, moss and ornaments, breaking the traditional tree into elemental pieces that convey its spirit. By arranging these natural elements in a circle, she evokes the cycle of seasons, the continuity of life, and the beauty of nature’s simplicity. Instead of a single upright tree, she presents scattered “fragments of the essence of the tree,” each offering a different perspective on Christmas, from the tranquility of the forest to the festive cheer. This deconstructed form invites us to see Christmas as grounded in tradition and open to new interpretations. This approach beautifully transforms traditional holiday imagery into something new, meaningful and organic” (Natallia Hrusha, Brussels – www.flowerequilibrium.com).
