While Belgian artist James Ensor moved in for his Big Exhibition ‘In your wildest dreams. Ensor beyond impressionism’, a small but curious contemporary art exhibition opened in his apartment. Curators Nico Van Hout and Erno Vroonen have put together a successful mix of works by living artists and masters from the KMSKA collection who have had a significant influence on them. Museum guide Ihor Biloushchenko, as an artist by profession (PHD in Art and Neurolinguistics at the University of Antwerp), is particularly partial to narratives of contemporary art. He will guide us through the exhibition and familiarise us with its concept, the interweaving of meanings, right down to the ‘boiling kettle with a whistle’.
